Your cover image is the first thing people see—make it count. Instead of relying on an auto-selected frame, you can now pick the perfect moment from your video or upload your own image before posting.

How to set a thumbnail

  1. Open a clip and click Publish to Social Media
  2. Click Edit cover on the video preview
  3. Choose how you want to set your thumbnail:
    • Reselect — scrub through your video and pick any moment as the cover
    • Upload file — upload your own photo as the thumbnail

Other ways to enter thumbnail selection

You can also set your thumbnail from:
  • Calendar — schedule a video directly from the calendar view to access thumbnail selection
  • Bulk Schedule — when scheduling multiple posts at once, you can set thumbnails from the bulk schedule flow

Apply cover to all posts at once

If your clip is being posted across multiple platforms, you don’t have to set the thumbnail one by one. After selecting your cover, click Apply cover to all posts to use the same thumbnail everywhere.

Edit a thumbnail after scheduling

Already scheduled a post? You can still update the cover. Click on a scheduled post then click on OpusClip’s Scheduler, click Reschedule and click Edit cover to make your changes.

FAQ

Can I upload any image as a thumbnail?

Yes—JPEG and PNG files are supported. If the aspect ratio doesn’t match your clip, you’ll be able to reframe it before confirming.

Can I change the thumbnail after I’ve already posted?

Thumbnail changes after posting depend on each platform’s own settings. We recommend setting it before you publish.

I don’t see the Edit cover button. Why?

Thumbnail selection is available on Pro and Enterprise plans.
