How do credits work?
What are credits?
Credits are used to process your video projects. Here is what your credits are worth:
Tool | Credits |
---|---|
ClipBasic model | 1 credit for 1 minute of video submitted |
ClipAnything model | 2 credits for 1 minute of video submitted |
Don’t Clip (including reframe only and add captions only) | 1 credit for 1 minute of video submitted |
B-Roll | 1 credit for 1 B-roll generated. Regeneration of B-Roll is free of charge. |
How is credit usage calculated?
When you submit a video to OpusClip, your credit usage is based on two things:
- How long your video is.
- Which tool and model you choose.
If you don’t need the whole video processed, you can select just the part you want by adjusting the “Processing timeframe” slider when submitting your video.
For all processing options, credits are calculated based on whole minutes:
- Videos shorter than 1 minute are rounded up to the nearest minute (e.g., 0.5 minutes costs 1 credit on ClipBasic, 2 credits on ClipAnything).
- Videos with partial minutes are rounded down to the nearest whole minute. (e.g., a 4.5-minute video would be calculated as 4 minutes).
ClipBasic
On ClipBasic, each minute of video uses 1 credit.
For example, processing a 30-minute video on ClipBasic would use 30 credits.
ClipAnything
On ClipAnything, each minute of video uses 2 credits.
For example, processing a 30-minute video on ClipAnything would use 60 credits.
Reframe and/or Add Captions Only
If you’d like to just reframe, add captions, or both—without creating any new clips, each minute of video input uses 1 credit.
To access these tools, you can select “Don’t Clip” after you upload or add your video in the submission flow. You can also choose a “Quickstart” option from the main dashboard to get this set up quickly.
B-Roll
B-Roll is charged at 1 credit per B-Roll clip generated. You can set a maximum number of B-Roll clips by clicking the three dots on the B-Roll generation button.
If fewer B-Roll clips are generated than your requested maximum, you will only be charged for the B-Roll that are actually generated.
If you don’t like the B-Roll we generated for you, you can regenerate them for free. If you delete the generated B-Roll, we won’t refund the credits for you.
Stock B-Roll and AI-generated B-Roll are priced identically.

Do credits expire?
If you’re on a monthly plan, your credits expire in 60 days, so they roll over for one additional month.
If you’re on a yearly plan, your credits are valid for 12 months. You’ll receive the full year’s worth of credits immediately upon purchase, and they will expire after 12 months.
If you cancel your subscription, any remaining credits will expire at their original expiration date, even if that is after your billing cycle ends.
How do I get more credits?
There are several ways to get more credits:
-
Refresh Your Plan: Paid users can refresh their plan by clicking the Add More Credits button at the top right corner of the dashboard. This lets you repurchase your current plan and receive additional credits instantly.
-
Add More Packs: To get more recurring credits each billing cycle, you can increase the number of packs you purchase. Go to Subscription -> Change Packs/Add More Packs to adjust your packs and get credits immediately.

Only the team owner can purchase a paid plan for the team. Once the plan is purchased, the credits will be shared among all team members.
