Media Storage and Uploads for OpusClip Plans

OpusClip offers flexible media storage and upload options tailored to different user plans. Free trial users and those on Pro plans have unique access to cloud storage for seamless editing, while Free and Starter users can explore an upsell option to upgrade for added benefits.

User Access by Plan

• Free Trial Users:

  • During the 7-day trial, users can upload media and access up to 100GB of cloud storage for saved projects and media uploads.
  • Media uploads are limited to 100 assets (including images and videos).
  • Uploaded media will display an expiration notice. Hovering over it shows a tooltip: “Media will be deleted when free trial ends (X days left). Upgrade to Pro Plan to keep it.”
  • Users will see a “Save to My Cloud Storage” button, which opens an upsell window to guide them to the Pro plan.

• Pro Plan Users:

  • For every pack purchased, pro users have access to 100GB of shared cloud storage for all uploads and projects.
    • Notifications will be pushed out when storage exceeds 80%.
    • Note this means multiple packs purchased = cloud storage would exceed 100GB (e.g. 5 packs purchased = 500 GB of shared cloud storage)

• Media from team members is shared across the organization, meaning any team member can upload or delete media visible to all under the org ID.

• Free and Starter Plan Users:

  • No cloud storage is available under Free and Starter plans.
  • Free or Starter plan users attempting to upload will see a “missing media” placeholder on the timeline and receive an upsell message with a demo on how cloud storage and uploads work on the Pro plan.

Features and Functionalities

1. Media Uploads and Expiry Notifications (Free Trial):

   • Storage Limit: 100GB shared across all uploads.
   • Upload Limits: 100 assets per account to maintain system stability.
   • Expiry Notification: Media shows expiration notices; hovering displays, “Media will be deleted when free trial ends (X days left). Upgrade to Pro Plan to keep it.”

2. Post-Trial Continuation (Pro Plan or Upgrade):

   • 100GB Storage: Pro users retain 100GB storage for all uploaded media and projects.
   • Storage Notifications: When storage usage exceeds 80%, Pro users will see a guide to purchase more packs.
     • Multiple purchases can lead to users getting cloud storage of over 100GB (e.g. 5 packs = 500 GB of shared cloud storage)
   • View Media Usage: Users can see storage usage per source, including projects and uploaded media.

3. Media Access for Free and Starter Plans:

   • No Cloud Storage: Limited storage to encourage paid conversions.
   • Upsell Features: Clickable placeholders and an upload button trigger an upsell message with a brief demo.

4. Team Media Management (Pro Plan):

   • All media uploaded by any team member under the same workspace is visible to others and can be deleted or edited by any team member.

Special Cases and User Guidance

• Existing Users before Oct-23-2024 with Media on Free Plans:
  • Free Beta tags appear on existing uploaded media with tooltips explaining, “During Beta, uploaded assets will not be stored in cloud storage but will be deleted after Beta.”
  • After 7 days, a countdown notification appears, “Your cloud storage is full. Please purchase additional packs to keep your media.”
