Currently, YouTube does allow creators to manually link a Short to a longer video using the YouTube Studio interface. When you set a related video, viewers will see a clickable link below your Short, making it easy for them to watch the full version.

However, YouTube does not yet allow this to be done through their public API. This means platforms like OpusClip cannot automatically set the original video link for you at the time of publishing.

If you want to link a Short to its full-length video:

  • You will need to manually add a related video inside YouTube Studio after the Short is uploaded.
  • Alternatively, you can include a direct link to the full video in the Short’s description or as a pinned comment to guide your viewers.
