# OpusSearch

## What is OpusSearch?

OpusSearch turns your video library into a searchable, reusable content engine — so you can grow faster without recording anything new.

Most creators and teams spend hours re-watching old videos to find the right moments. OpusSearch removes that friction. It indexes your content, understands what's in it, and lets you search by topic, speaker, vibe, or phrase — so you can surface, repurpose, and publish clips in seconds.

### What you can do with OpusSearch

* Search your entire video library for any topic, phrase, person, or mood
* Find relevant clips from old videos and turn them into new posts
* Discover what's trending in your content and act on it quickly
* Organize your best clips into collections and find them in seconds
* Auto-import new videos from YouTube so your library always stays fresh
* Share access with your team and collaborate on content discovery

### When does OpusSearch become available?

After your content is connected (via YouTube auto import or manual upload), OpusSearch indexes each video — analyzing transcripts, topics, speakers, mood, and key moments. You'll see an "Indexing in progress" screen while this runs. When indexing is complete, Search becomes available automatically.

**Tip:** The more videos you have, the longer indexing may take. Grab a coffee and check back soon!

## How to use OpusSearch

### Set up your library

When you first open Search, you'll see a setup flow. Owners and admins complete this to get the team up and running.

* **Connect your YouTube account** — Click Connect Account, sign in, and select which playlists or channels to index. New videos published to those playlists will be imported and indexed automatically.
* **Configure Video index settings** — Control which channels and playlists feed into OpusSearch. Access it anytime from Profile menu → Video index settings.
* **Invite your team** — Click "Invite members" on the top right. You can name your team, set a logo for the team, and invite team members for collaboration.

**Note on access:** Owners and admins have full access to setup and team management. Team members will see a waiting screen until the setup is complete.

### Search for any moment

Go to Search in the app (desktop only) and type what you're looking for in your own words.

Examples:

* "best moments about building habits"
* "funny reaction moments"
* "the part where they explain the pricing model"
* "inspiring story about failure"

**Tip:** For exact phrase matches, wrap your query in quotes: `"we need to talk"` or `"credit card"`

### Preview results

Click any clip card to preview the moment and confirm it's what you need.

### Refine with filters

Use the filter panel on the right to narrow results by **People**, **Topics**, **Mood**, or **Duration**. Sort by Relevancy, Recently added, or Oldest added.

### Export in bulk

Switch to Select mode to choose multiple clips and download or export them together — useful for building a batch of clips for a channel or a themed content drop.

Your recent searches are saved on the Search landing page, so you can quickly return to previous queries.

## OmniSearch

OmniSearch is a global search modal that lives across the entire app. It's the fastest way to find anything — a clip, a project, a collection, a setting, or to kick off AI generation — without navigating away from where you are.

### How to open it

* **Mac:** `Command + K`
* **Windows / Linux:** `Ctrl + K`
* Press `Escape` to close or clear your search

### Tabs

| Tab             | What it does                                                                            |
| --------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

| **Clips** | Search your indexed clip library |

| **Collections** | Find any collection by name |

| **Generate** | Trigger Clip Copilot and AI generation tools (All Content or inside a project only) |

### Keyboard shortcuts

* **Alt + 1–5** (Windows) / **Option + 1–5** (Mac) — Switch between tabs in OmniSearch
* **↑ / ↓** — Move through results
* **Enter** — Open selected result
* **Escape** — Close or clear

### OmniSearch vs. Search page — when to use which

* Find a clip from your library → Clips tab (OmniSearch) or Search page
* Find a project by title → Projects tab (OmniSearch)
* Navigate to a page quickly → Navigation tab (OmniSearch)
* Start AI generation → Generate tab
* Browse, filter, and bulk export clips → Search page

## All Content & Collections

**All Content** is your library home base — all your projects, organized in one place. From here you can browse projects, create a new collection, or submit a new video for indexing.

To get there: click **All Content** in the app navigation, or open OmniSearch → Navigation → All Content.

### Collections

Collections group related clips together by campaign, client, series, or any theme that works for your team. Create one from All Content → New Collection, then add clips to it — open a clip and use its **Add to collection** option. You can search collections by name directly in OmniSearch → Collections tab.

**Note:** Creating collections is available on Enterprise plans only.

## Trends

Trends shows you which topics are gaining traction in your library right now — so you can surface the right clips and publish at the right moment.

On the Search landing page (before you type anything), scroll down to **Trending in your content**. Click any trending topic to see the related clips immediately.

### Using Trends in your workflow

1. Open Search and browse Trending in your content
2. Spot a topic that's gaining traction
3. Click the topic to see related clips
4. Export the best moments and publish

You can also refresh trends for an updated view, or give feedback (thumbs up / thumbs down) to improve suggestions over time.

## Tips & Filters

### Search tips

* **Use natural language.** Describe the moment the way you'd explain it: "the part where they talk about fear of failure," not just "fear."
* **Use quotes for exact phrases.** Wrap a specific phrase in quotes to match it literally: `"that's the secret"`
* **Start broad, then filter.** Search something general and narrow down using filters.
* **Try synonyms.** If results are thin, try a different word for the same concept.
* **Check Most Recent Clips** if search feels empty — this confirms whether your content has been indexed yet.

### Filters

* **People** — Filter by speaker or person who appears in the clip
* **Topics** — Filter by detected topic or category (e.g. marketing, health, money)
* **Mood** — Filter by emotional tone (upbeat, serious, funny, inspiring, etc.)
* **Duration** — Filter by clip length (under 15 sec, 15–60 sec, etc.)

**Tip:** Filters only appear when OpusSearch has that data for your clips. Videos with clear audio and focused content tend to get richer filter options.

### Sorting

* **Relevancy** — Best match first
* **Recently added** — Most recently indexed clips first
* **Oldest added** — Oldest indexed clips first

## FAQ

### General

**Is OpusSearch available to everyone?**

Access depends on your plan and organization. If you see "no permission to access search," contact your org admin or reach out to support.

**Is OpusSearch available on mobile?**

OpusSearch is currently desktop-only.

**Can my team use OpusSearch together?**

Yes. As an owner or admin, invite team members from Team settings. Once indexed, everyone on the team can search the same library.

### Setup & Indexing

**Why am I seeing "Indexing in progress"?**

Your content is being prepared for search. Indexing runs in the background and can take some time depending on how many videos you have. Search becomes available automatically when it's done.

**I connected YouTube but don't see my videos. What's wrong?**

Make sure you selected at least one playlist or channel in Video index settings. If you did, check back in a few minutes — indexing takes time.

### Search Results

**Why am I getting no results for my search?**

Try these in order: remove quotes and simplify the query → use fewer or broader words → try a synonym → apply fewer filters → check Most Recent Clips to confirm content is indexed.

**Why do some clips have fewer details (no topics, no mood)?**

Details like topics, speakers, and mood depend on what OpusSearch detected during indexing. Videos with clear audio and focused content tend to get richer metadata.

**Can I search for a specific person in my videos?**

Yes, use the People filter if your content has been indexed with speaker detection.

### Access & Permissions

**I'm a team member and Search isn't available yet. What do I do?**

Your owner or admin needs to finish setup. Let them know, or check via OmniSearch → Navigation → Manage your team.

**I don't see the Generate tab in OmniSearch.**

The Generate tab is only available when you're on the All Content page or inside a project. Navigate there first, then open OmniSearch.

### Still stuck?

Open OmniSearch → Navigation → Help Center, or contact support from your profile menu.
