# How to Use Recipes

## What can I do with a Recipe?

A Recipe lets you save your editing setup and reuse it on new videos. Use it to turn a long video into short clips or edit a single video.

Choose which editing features to run, such as captions, speech cleanup, B-roll, and hooks, then pick their settings and styles. You can also select a Brand Kit to apply your branding. Save your Recipe once, then use the same setup whenever you need it.

## Which Recipes are available?

OpusClip includes **some built-in Recipes** under **OpusClip Recipes** in **Manage Recipes**.

| Recipe | Use it to |
| - | - |
| **Clip long video** | Find highlights and turn them into clips with captions and a headline. |
| **Clean up recording** | Clean up speech, enhance audio, correct color, and improve eye contact. |
| **Auto-edit talking videos** | Apply captions, a Viral Hook, Motion Graphics, B-roll, speech cleanup, and other automatic edits. |
| **Captions** | Add animated captions. |
| **Reframe** | Adapt your video to another aspect ratio. |
| **Social edits** | Add captions, a Viral Hook, Motion Graphics, and sound effects. |
| **AI B-roll** | Add relevant AI image B-roll. |
| **Translate & dub** | Dub your video into another language and add captions. |

Each Recipe starts with a different set of edits, but you have the same options to choose from. You can customize any Recipe by turning edits on or off and adjusting their settings, then save your changes as a custom Recipe to reuse on your next video.

## What is a custom Recipe?

A custom Recipe is your own saved auto-edit setup.

You can start with a built-in Recipe, change the settings, and save your version under **My custom Recipes**.

You can update, rename, duplicate, or delete your custom Recipes. Built-in Recipes stay unchanged when you save your own version.

## How do I run a Recipe?

On the **Dashboard**, choose a Recipe to get started, or click **See all Recipes** to browse the full list.

* Upload a video or paste a supported video link.
* Review your **Recipe settings** and make any changes for this video if needed.
* Check the selected edits and credit usage in **Summary**, then click **Create**.

## How do I switch Recipes?

On any Recipe page, open the **Recipe** picker and select another Recipe. Review its settings and your Brand Kit selection before clicking **Create**.

## Can I use a Recipe without a Brand Kit?

Yes. Choose **No brand kit** to use the settings you select on the Recipe page without applying a kit.

To reuse the same logo, caption style, intro, outro, and music across videos, select a Brand Kit.
