# How Do Recipes and Brand Kit Work Together?

Your **Recipe** saves your editing setup: which edits to run, their settings, and **which Brand Kit to use**, including the option to use no Brand Kit.

Your **Brand Kit** sets the look, including your logo, caption style, headline style, layout, intro, outro, and music. When you save a Brand Kit selection in a custom Recipe, that kit is automatically selected the next time you use the Recipe.

## What does each one control?

| Setting | Where to change it |
| - | - |
| Turn Clipping, Captions, Auto hook, or other edits on or off | Recipe |
| Choose the output aspect ratio | Recipe |
| Choose options such as clip length, B-roll type, or Viral hook versus Headline | Recipe |
| Set caption and headline styles when a Brand Kit is applied | Brand Kit |
| Set layouts and element placement for each aspect ratio | Brand Kit |
| Add your logo, intro, outro, and music | Brand Kit |

## How do I apply a Brand Kit to a Recipe?

1. Open a Recipe.
2. Use the **Brand kit** picker next to the Recipe picker to select a kit.
3. Review your Recipe settings, then click **Create** to run it.

To keep that Brand Kit selection for a custom Recipe, save the Recipe after selecting the kit.

You can choose a different kit, or **No brand kit**, before submitting a video.

## Does a Brand Kit turn captions or headlines on?

No. Use **Captions** and **Auto hook** in the Recipe to turn them on or off.

For example, if your Brand Kit has a caption style but **Captions** is off, the video won't have captions. Turn **Captions** on to use that style.

For a headline, turn on **Auto hook** and select **Headline**. Auto hook adds either a Headline or a Viral Hook, so you can't apply both at once.

## Why can't I change a style on the Recipe page?

When a Brand Kit is selected, it controls the styles it defines, such as caption and headline styles. To use a different style, you can:

* Update the selected Brand Kit.
* Switch to another Brand Kit.
* Select **No brand kit** and choose a style on the Recipe page.

## What happens to the logo, intro, outro, and music?

These are part of the Brand Kit. When you apply the kit, the assets configured in it are applied to your video. Manage them in the Brand Kit.

## Do I need a separate Brand Kit for every aspect ratio?

No. One Brand Kit supports **9:16, 16:9, 1:1, and 4:5**.

Choose the output ratio on the Recipe page. OpusClip uses the Brand Kit's layout and placement settings for that ratio, including any intro and outro configured for it.

Each run creates one ratio. Run the Recipe again to create another version.
