# Create and Save a Custom Recipe

Save the edits you use together as a custom Recipe, then apply the same setup to your next video.

## How do I create my own Recipe?

1. On **Dashboard**, click "See all Recipes" to open **Manage Recipes**.
2. Click **Create new Recipe**.
3. Give it a name you can recognize.
4. Configure your Recipe:
   1. choose a **Brand kit,** or select **No brand kit.**
   2. select the edits you want to apply
   3. adjust the options for each edit
5. Save your Recipe.

Your saved Recipe appears under **My custom Recipes**. You can save a Recipe without submitting a video.

## How do I save changes to a built-in Recipe?

1. Open any built-in Recipe, such as **Clip long video** or **Captions**.
2. Change the settings you want to customize.
3. Click **Save** next to **Save your Recipe updates?**.
4. Name and save as your custom Recipe.

This creates your own Recipe. It doesn't replace the built-in one.

## How do I update an existing custom Recipe?

1. Open your custom Recipe and adjust its settings.
2. Click **Save** on the top right corner.
3. Choose whether to update the current Recipe or save the settings as a new custom Recipe.

## Do I have to save before I create a video?

No. You can change settings for one video and click **Create** without saving them to a Recipe.

For a custom Recipe, those changes apply to that run. Save them if you want the Recipe to use them next time.

## What does a custom Recipe save?

Your Recipe saves:

* The output aspect ratio
* Which edits are on or off, including **Clipping, Captions, B-roll type, speech cleanup**, etc.
* Options for the selected edits, such as **custom prompt**, caption styles, B-roll type, and hook type
* Your Brand Kit selection, including **No brand kit**

When a Brand Kit is selected, it controls the styles it defines, such as caption and headline styles. Edit those styles in the Brand Kit, or choose **No brand kit** to choose them on the Recipe page.

## Can I save a Recipe from the Editor?

Not yet. Create and save Recipes from Dashboard or Recipe page.

Changes made while editing a clip can't currently be saved as a Recipe.
